I discovered this abandoned house while on a random outing one Saturday in search of a new site to explore. It sits on a dead ending concession road. The property was striking in appearance, and was one of those properties that emitted a strange eerie feel. This is the front of the house as it faces the concession road.
This view is from the rear of the house. Quite deceiving from first glance at the front, it was actually a fairly large home. Note the missing section of roof on the back corner.

The same view as above in color.

This is a shot of the front right side.

A shot from the side.

View from the front.

My first view of the interior, once I got through the front door. The place was in a shables. Note the ceiling fan hanging on the right. Wallpaper was definately of a vintage form. The floorboards had decayed and fallen into the earth below.

The front room just inside the front door. I climbed over the toppled cabinet to get inside.

This is from the interior at the rear, looking up to the second floor (note the bedroom door above). The second floor had completely given away, as had the roof above in this section of the house (see 2nd and 3rd pic).
Another image looking upwards through the non existent roof.

The old electrical panel.

Peeling wallpaper and well worn paint always makes for an interesting photo.

Looking out a side window onto the beautiful surrounding grounds.

Another window. Note how the floors have come away from the walls.

The remains of the kitchen. This looks like it used to be an old drysink.

Another shot of the kitchen. The open doorway leads to the back corner of the house with no roof.

In the main room sat a huge tractor tire, along with the remains of an old spring bead and dishwasher.
.jpg)
The tractor tire was blocking access to another room. I decided to leave well enough alone, and not climb over, as the structure was pretty frail.
There was no easy or safe access to the stairs to explore the top floor of the house.

We ventured outside and explored the rear of the property. This is a view of the house from the rear, a few hundred feet back from the road. It almost looks like its peeking over the treetops, watching us with its window eyes!
.jpg)
The long pathway that led to the remains of the barn foundation. Note the old handmade bridge for crossing the creek that ran through the grounds. Note the house, top left.
THIS IS WHERE WE FOUND OUR SURPRISE...
.jpg)
BONES, laying amongst the debris of the barn foundation. All of a sudden we felt very strongly that it was time to leave. A cold wind started to blow and the sky darkened, threatening rain, and the eerie feeling that we had when we first saw the house returned like a strong wave.
This property felt cold and sad, like it had a sad history, or a sad tale to tell centering around it's demise.
