I discovered this property while taking some backroads home from a family visit in Fergus. It sits just feet from the side of a concession road, but is nearly hidden by the trees that surround it. Right next to the property is a very well maintained and active family farm. My arrival was made known by the farm's dog, although he must have been trained to remain on his land (or tied up), as he didn't come out to investigate me.
This house was a very basic one level structure consisting of 4 rooms.

The front door was open, and the urge to explore within was to tempting to pass up.

Old hardware, worn and weathered by time.

Here I go....what waits inside?

My first view of the interior. To my left are 2 bedrooms. Facing me are the main room and kitchen.

The kitchen, the only room in the house with any real substance remaining.
An old bedframe sits in the front room on the left side of the house.

A view of the rear of the house. The window in the image is the kitchen window. The door to the right of the window led to the cellar, but in the interest of safety I stayed up top.

An old hand painted roadsign at a nearby crossroads. How many of these exist today?
