I discovered this property while searching the backroads of Melancthon Township. It sits almost totally obscured by the surrounding undergrowth and trees. It would have been very easy to miss.

The most striking feature was the one wall that remained standing.

Obviously a bay window. The rest of the house seemed to be of a woodframe construction, while this feature was brick and stone. Perhaps it was an add on, or they decided to build the balance of the home from wood to save on time and building costs?

Looking up to the window.

Amongst the collapsed remains were hints of architectural detail.

A shot from the side.

An old door amongst the ruins.

The only hint of anything left to the interior was this old coal or wood furnace. It was a massive beast, which proably fought the cold of the long bitter winters quite well.

The same image in black and white.

In a few short years, it appears that the undergrowth will completely take over what is left of this house.
